Prof. Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu Assumes Office As Principal Of UDS Nyankpala Campus – Takes Over From Prof. Nyarko
On Thursday, August 31, 2023, Deans, Directors, the new Campus Officer, Vice Deans, Heads of Departments, Faculty members and staff of the Nyankpala campus met at the Principal’s conference room, to witness a brief handover ceremony between the Outgoing Principal of the UDS Nyankpala Campus, Prof. George Nyarko and the incoming one Prof. Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu.
The outgoing Principal, Prof. George Nyarko who has been in office for the past six years, thanked God, the University Management, UDS students and staff, especially, of the Nyankpala Campus, who contributed in many ways to the success of his tenure. He highlighted some great achievements realized during his tenure and informed the incoming Principal about some great planned activities to be performed in the near future.
The new Principal, Prof. Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu accepted to take over the responsibility as the Principal with a pledge to continue with the good works Prof. Nyarko had already begun. He thanked the outgoing Principal for paving a path that would ensure the development of the Nyankpala Campus.
Prof Iddrisu appealed to UDS staff, particularly, those on the Nyankpala Campus to keep working together as a team, adding that his doors will remain open to all.
Later, there was a brief reception held in honour of the former Principal, Prof. George Nyarko.
WHO IS PROF. MOHAMMED MUNIRU IDDRISU, THE NEW PRINCIPAL?
Prof. Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu is a Professor of Mathematics. Until his appointment as the Principal of the Nyankpala Campus of the University for Development Studies, he was the Dean, School of Graduate Studies and Research at the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Ghana.
He holds a PhD in Mathematics and has published extensively in reputable journals both locally and internationally. He is also a reviewer and a member of editorial board to many local and international journals. His research interests are generally in Mathematical Analysis with emphasis on inequalities, Special functions, Coding Theory and Cryptography.
